"Medicine" (41721)
 

The conception of study program "Medicine" (41721) envisages that by acquiring this study program the student obtains first-level higher professional education. The length of studies for the program is 3 years or 6 terms full-time studies. The volume of the program is 120 credit points. Required previous education – general secondary education or 9-year basic education and 4-year secondary vocational education. Name of qualification and title conferred – Doctor’s assistant. Study program "Medicine" (41721) accredited to 31 December 31th,2011. The contents of the program to be mastered is divided into 3 parts:

  1. Compulsory part (A) – involves first-level higher professional education and is an obligatory precondition for obtaining qualification of doctor’s assistant, the proportion of which is 60%.

  2. Compulsory option part (B) – students have the right to choose modules of various additional programs, the proportion of which in the volume of credit points is 30%.

  3. Free option part (C) – the student may choose study courses of another branches of science, with the proportion of 10% in the volume of credit points.

The objectives of the study program "Medicine" (41721):

  1. Secure acquiring of first-level higher professional education in the doctor’s assistant profession.

  2. Train professional doctor’s assistants who are able to satisfy public health needs.

  3. Promote professional growth and give the possibility to acquire second-level higher professional education.

  4. Provide for the basis of knowledge and skills that is needed for scientific approach in medicine.

Tasks of the study program "Medicine" (41721):

  1. Making use of critical thinking, apply the acquired knowledge in humanities and sciences related to them, maintaining health for different individuals.

  2. Use efficient communication skills, collaborate with patients and health care team members in practice to satisfy the needs for patient health promotion, maintenance and rehabilitation.

  3. Prepare, put into practice and evaluate the patient health teaching plan to satisfy the needs for health maintenance, rehabilitation and promotion.

  4. Integrate medical theories, ensuring approval of clinical research decisions and improvement of practice for doctor’s assistants.

  5. Integrate the idea of uniqueness of every man and respect to him and his life into professional practice of doctor’s assistants.

  6. Assume and implement responsibility for acquiring education and professional growth in doctor’s assistants.

  7. Provide for knowledge in organizing doctor’s assistant work.
